Sleep
Sleep comes to me,
like a Burmese python
swallowing its prey,
slowly but patiently.
There is nothing but darkness,
inside its endless belly.
And this sleep in my eyes
trying to engulf me in darkness too,
but the light of a dream
will soon follow,
and walk me through
the uncertainities of tomorrow;
Will I open my eyes then?
Who knows?
Do you wish you are alive the next day?
Do you even think of seeing the light next day,
when the sleep, inside you, slowly creeps its way?
Tell me, do you?
like a Burmese python
swallowing its prey,
slowly but patiently.
There is nothing but darkness,
inside its endless belly.
And this sleep in my eyes
trying to engulf me in darkness too,
but the light of a dream
will soon follow,
and walk me through
the uncertainities of tomorrow;
Will I open my eyes then?
Who knows?
Do you wish you are alive the next day?
Do you even think of seeing the light next day,
when the sleep, inside you, slowly creeps its way?
Tell me, do you?
